How Arcade Points Are Calculated

A plain-English breakdown of every point source in the Cloud Skills Arcade Program.

5 min read

The point sources

Points in the Arcade come from completed profile badges and current arcade games. The tracker reads your public profile, separates likely skill badges from arcade games, and shows exactly where your total is coming from.

Skill badges are worth half a point each — a design choice that rewards steady, consistent learning over binge sessions. If you complete two skill badges you have earned one point.

Arcade games are worth one full point each. They are the cleanest way to close a small gap when you are near a 2026 prize threshold.

2026 prize tiers

The 2026 ladder starts at Trooper with 50 points, then Ranger at 75, Champion at 95, and Legend at 120. The old Novice tier is no longer shown in the tracker.

Because prize pools can waterfall down after higher tiers fill, the calculator focuses on your threshold progress and your exact point gap to the next tier.

Why the tracker's number can differ from official dashboards

Official dashboards refresh on their own schedule and may take up to 24 hours to reflect a completed lab. Because our calculator is client-side, it updates instantly as you edit inputs. Use the official dashboard as the source of truth when a cohort actually closes; use the tracker to plan.
